As my buddy sabotlours mentioned, we had just gotten off the Eurostar at "Gard du Nord" station, and got on a very very crowded Metro train to head to our hotel.  I was crammed between a couple of Africans, who I thought looked suspicious, so I was trying to cover my pockets, anticipating a pickpocket attempt.  And sure enough. It's time for my annual RainFurrest roadtrip with tugsie.  I'll be heading up to Salt Lake, and then we drive to Seattle by way of Montana and Idaho.  We did the same route last year and it was rainy and low visibility all the way out of MT, so I'm itching to do it again.  It's pretty up there.  One of these days I want to get out on a boat on Lake Couer ( Read more... )

I got back Tuesday, but almost immediately had to dive into work related stuff and play "catch up".  I also needed to catch up on sleep, since I only got a few hours of good sleep on the train.

I headed out of SLC around 10:30AM and made it into Albuquerque around 8:30PM.  That's fairly good time for that trip.  Originally, I wanted to take two days and use the back roads, but at this point, I really wanted to get home to my own bed for once.  Also, I now have Sunday to unpack and clean up.
