SGA & x-stitch

Sep 09, 2006 21:38

I watched my very first episode of SGA last night. I can see why people ♥ Rodney. He is a snarky woobie. Nothing jumped out at me as being particularly slashy. Still an entertaining hour.

A while back, I posted a cross-stitch pattern ( here) based on the silhouette of Fraser and Ray. I started it last weekend. It's coming along rather quickly ( Read more... )

That's about 6 hours work there. No color changes helps it go fast. But my eyes are getting tired.

I know. People who don't xstitch don't appreciate how hard it is to make all those little stitches and that's just when it's one color. When you do blending, it's like dear god, am I insane or what? How can this be fun? *g* Still, most of the time I do find it relaxing.

I put in another 3 hours today. Ray is complete to the same level as Fraser now. That picture of the sleeping kitten I posted is full of blended threads. Then there's the backstitching.

I find it relaxing too. Today I sat and stitched with football on as background noise.

You make a great progress!

And, um, I may have just ordered the UK release of due South season 3/4 because I am that much of a completist.

I've already had two sets of S3. But Sooooo tempting!

Oh, that's coming along nicely. I finished the backstitch on the flowerfairy today, and have picked up a kit I goofed up back when dinosaurs roamed the earth (okay, late 'teens, maybe) and unpicked it and am going to start over. Fortunately, not much of it got done, so I won't have to worry about running out of floss etc. I'm going to tack grid squares on this time so I don't get lost.

Yay for finishing the backstitch! I hate doing that. My next big project I'm going to try using grid squares. I've never used them before.

It makes it much easier to spot mistakes should they happen, and generally, it helps counting. Most charts are divided into ten-by-ten boxes anyway. (I'd like to say it's so not my idea, I found it in a magazine suggested for doing their itty-bitty flower fairy kit)

I've posted pictures of my kits now, if you'd like a dekko.
