Anybody need a lot?

So my summer has been, in all the normal ways, uneventful thus far. In the abnormal ways, it has been a little more interesting.

Life around my house has been...unpleasant since summer started. Yes. We'll call it that. There's a rift that suddenly appeared between my grandparents and my mom over completely stupid things. Not joking: they're completely ridiculous (my grandparents are being ridiculous, not my mom). What it comes down to is that my mom, brother, and I will probably be moving some time in the next few months. Not out of district - Mom knows how awful that would be for us, and me in particular (can you imagine leaving the district for senior year? Ugh). We're looking in Burlington or in one of those subdivisions off of 20 - Randall Ridge and a couple others near there. There's also a house for sale off Empire somewhere.

My mom owns the lot next door to the house we're living in now, and our ability to move depends on the sale of that lot. That's the fund for the new house, basically. The real estate market sucks, pretty much, but our lot has been on the market for two days and our realtor was surprised by the number of inquiries she's gotten already. So while that doesn't mean it will sell soon, it certainly isn't bad news. If you know anybody who wants to move into Hampshire and yet send their kids to District 301 rather than 300, send them our direction! Selling the lot will be a great relief.

So it's going to be awkward for a while around here, and there's no guarantee that moving will make anything better, but...it seems there's nothing else to be done. And...that's my life currently. Just to make it more interesting.
