After two years of not understanding all those geeky t-shirts with computing-related slogans, I get my own back!

I love my understanding family, who have made me very happy indeed.

French is the most irritating language for someone to be whispering in in a library. Well, in my experience anyway (includes German, Arabic, English, Japanese and Turkish. Can anyone guess where I work? :p).

There's just something about early/mid-20th(ish) music. By that I mean Shostakovich, Bartok, Enescu, Janacek, Berkeley, Finzi and their ilk. I'm not so much happier as more...awake, alive, sensitive, emotional (by which I mean strength of feeling rather than propensity to break down into tears!)...I don't know, probably happier as well ( Read more... )

Yesterday was Burwash Apple Day which was highly pleasing and yielded for me two Jonagolds and a big bottle of Cassells cider and was a pleasing three hours, although I'd advise that cake and lots of tea are not advisable if you're then going to dance 6 dances in the space of half an hour...
