AN: Inspired by all the pre-season training pictures floating around. Is it August yet?
Tantalus
Billy is a professional who knows how to do his job despite all manner of distractions, and that’s not about to change just because Jamie has become one of them. So he spends the entire training session diligently not looking at the way Jamie’s jersey rides up every time he jumps to head the ball. He doesn’t pay any attention whatsoever to the flush slowly hiding Jamie’s freckles as the morning wears on. And when they’re stretching side by side Billy is in no way tempted to touch the tangle of damp curls at the nape of Jamie’s neck.
He doesn’t think about it, and he’s definitely not remembering twisting his fingers into those curls, mouth ghosting over freckled skin that flushes beneath his touch until Jamie shivers against him and laughs into his kiss. He’s not remembering anything like that, but as the squad breaks for lunch Billy pulls Jamie behind the lockers and kisses him in a way that they both will certainly not be thinking about for the rest of the afternoon.
