The movie "Alexander" was my rental DVD delivery for this week (our equivalent of Netflix), and I watched it last night. Can't say the critics were wrong about this one (as they often are).
It seemed like a mishmash of different narrative styles (voice-over, one flashback, jump-cuts with maps and without), which made it a bit confusing to follow the plot, what little there was. I'm also not entirely sure whether this was supposed to be a big epos with big battles, or a biopic, or a history lesson. For now, I'm going with the history lesson; it most resembled those docu-dramas on National Geographic or Discovery. Especially with those lengthy (and rather boring) voice over expositions!
And Alexander didn't even have the bonus of Troy that at least had pretty manflesh (read: the Bean). Collin Farrell is okay, but Collin Farrell as a blond? Not so much.
Now I'm supposed to make a scrapbook-type page for two colleages that are leaving us next week. Ugh. First of all, I don't like doing such things at all. Secondly, it's the weekend! I don't want to have to think of my colleagues/work on the weekend (and no, can't do it at work, because there I'm lacking the tools, and time, unfortunately). And thirdly, I barely know those people past their names and job descriptions. Ugh, again.
And completely random, for the catlovers on my flist (which I think is about everybody):
Cats in sinks (yes, really).
