30 day fanfic meme - Day 14
14 - Ratings - how high are you comfortable with going? Have you ever written higher? If you're comfortable with NC-17, have you ever been shocked by finding that the story you're writing is G-rated instead?
I've written from G to NC-17, and everything in between. Most stories fall somewhere between the extremes.
For my own archives, I prefer using a three-tiered General - Teen - Adult system, because for one, stories aren't like movies and two, my cultural norms aren't American cultural norms, so the shades of difference between PG/PG13 and often R elude me. Three categories makes my rating life a lot easier, and is probably just as helpful for the reader as having five.
