Tonight, I’ll have to leave my trusty computer, purring cat and unwatched DVDs alone to go to a first home owners meeting of the new apartment. Aside from the fact that I detest having to go out after work, especially when it’s not summer and dark, I’m not particularly looking forward to it.
Generally speaking, these meetings are long and tedious. And while it’s good to have the builders at hand to explain further about the rest of the process (like when the kitchen people are allowed in to measure up the kitchen area…), someone will ask a stupid question about something that has just been explained at length. They will then not understand the reply so answering will drag on, with lots of repeating of already departed information.
And five minutes later someone else will ask the same stupid question. Wash, rinse, repeat.
In the meantime, I will be bored and thinking I could’ve spent my time much better on the final read-over of my Shakespeare!Dean fic before sending it off to the betas. But it must be endured.
On the upside, I suppose I can consider this another step toward actually living in my new place… And maybe I can finally get an answer about my wish to install
solatubes for more light in the kitchen and possibly bathroom! Since this requires holes in the roof, which belongs to all the owners living underneath it, even the ones on the ground floor, it’s not something I can just order done by myself. And of course it would’ve been way more convenient to get it done during the actual building process instead of afterward, but nobody was prepared to say, yes you can without asking the home owners association - which didn’t yet exist!
