Introducing Orion the Deer!
Well, we're into the last stretch before Anthrocon. The deep breath before the plunge. Things are still going very good with us, but I will confess we're beginning to really look forward to the end of the pre-AC fursuit building push. At this point we have not had a full day off since April. It will feel very good to be able to take the time to rest up and take a couple personal days for housekeeping and relaxing. The weather has finally turned all pretty and summer like! It will be good to be able to get out and enjoy it. The beach is calling!! As is sleep!! :)
Today we are posting one of the new suits that will be attending Anthrocon. This post is for Orion the deer!!
Orion was a very interesting project to work on. A lot of time went into coming up with some of the elements of his design. The choice of the black fur came from the customer; I think it turned out particularly distinct and attractive. The next challenging feature was the tattoos. Their design was inspired by the antlers of a deer. They're curved and barbed to suggest the kind of style a deer character might choose.
The most distinctive deer feature - besides his fluffy white tail - are the antlers. A lot of time was spent working on them. They overall shape is consistent with a white tailed deer, tho I did alter them a little. They've been curved and curled into a crown of points. They were a lot of fun to make and I really like how they turned out! So much work but worth it!!
