It's been a busy week for us. With the Olympics going on, everything is just...more. Something like 1 million visitors in town for the event. This means that Vancouver and the surrounding area has about 1/3 extra people wandering about. It's most noticeable in the downtown core and on all our mass transit, but you can see it even on random side-streets, malls, or restaurants. It makes getting around just a bit more interesting. This should give the city planners a chance to see what the area will be like in 20 years and adjust their plans for population growth accordingly. In the meantime tho, it's certainly an interesting complication to daily life. At least the weather and the city are particularly pretty right now! :D
Todays post is for Zunami. Black, gray, and white - he has all the main elements of a traditional wolf tho we did try to give him his own unique look.
I find working on wolves to be an interesting prospect. Gray or black wolves have many similarities with each other, so the challenge becomes making each one special through the use of markings and proportioning. In the case of Zunami, he has a very detailed diamond shaped marking on his forehead as well as distinctive patterning of the colors on his limbs and body. I think he turned out rather cute.
I think one of the most fun parts of building any suit is to give them a sense of personality. It's hard sometimes - especially when a person wants a fairly neutral/friendly personality. When I'm working on a head, one of my goals is to work until I feel like the character is looking back at me. Like there's a sense of presence to the eyes and head that gives the character a feeling of life.
As always you can see more of Zunami in his gallery on the One Fur All Studios website -
