Planting gardens.

Dan and I have 3 gardens planted. One is the strawberry patch in the corner of the fence, in which I am at war with the grass, and which will produce possibly dozens of strawberries this year. The other is by the front porch, in which we planted thyme and carrots and scallions and sunflowers and peas and spinach. These are all growing happily, ( Read more... )

Me thinks that potato plants are picky, or that they may not have enough space to spread out in competing with tree roots, or that the acidity level of the soil surrounding the tree is not to their liking.
I could be wrong.

We too have strawberries. It's very exciting.

well, we added 6" of dirt depth around the tree, but maybe they were buried too deep or too close to the tree. The potatoes in the other places are compost leftovers, so i'm not surprised they're there, really. But I am, because there are no other composted vegetables rising from the dead.

Not really dead, but inedible. Cuz what's cooler than zombie vegetables?
