Planting gardens.

Dan and I have 3 gardens planted. One is the strawberry patch in the corner of the fence, in which I am at war with the grass, and which will produce possibly dozens of strawberries this year. The other is by the front porch, in which we planted thyme and carrots and scallions and sunflowers and peas and spinach. These are all growing happily, green and luscious and green and the spinach is tasty! The other other is around a tree in the backyard, which has yet more peas, garlic, wildflowers, and potatoes. Everything we planted around the tree, except the potatoes, are growing. The fourth of three gardens contains a rosebush and our compost heap. All we planted there (on purpose) is nothing. (Last year a surprise monster pumpkin vine sprung forth from there and took over the backyard - big glorious surprise)

There are Threee potato plants growing out of the compost. There are Four potato plants growing out of the front garden, among the sunflowers and peas. There are No potato plants growing around the tree, which is where we put them in the first place.

I'm not upset about having potato plants everywhere. I like potatoes. I just don't understand what they have against the tree.
