HELLO AUTHOR! IT’S YULETIDE!
i’ve done yuletide roughly three hundred thousand times and every year it’s a horror and a joy, so in advance!! thank you so much for your story! thank you for taking a hot second out of capitalistpalooza to write a story!! i can’t wait to read it!!
IN GENERAL
i like: banter, absurdity, plot is fun!!!!, slice of life stories are amazing, well-written female characters every-fuckin-where, 5 things stories, character studies, big goddamn ensembles
i dislike: violence, racism, misogyny, a/b/o, humiliation, emotional abuse LOL YOU KNOW THOSE COMMON TROPES THAT ARE TOTALLY ONLY IN FIC AND NOT REAL LIFE.

Hamilton - Miranda
hey u know what A CERTAIN PERSON made that fucked me up
i'm in deep with lin-manuel miranda's hamilton because it has so much of the things i love: a huge ensemble cast, tons of hilarious quotable dialogue, and enough tastes of history to drive people to read a 10,000 page biography just to dig further into the story told by the musical. that being said: i would love a story that focused on the relationships between the act 1 revolutionaries, especially hamilton and washington's relationship, whether platonic or romantic, explicit or subtextual, whatever! I LOVE IT ALL and, as the ASW-remix above shows, i love how complicated and intense it's portrayed in the musical.
i also requested laurens and jefferson, by which i mean i would love to see their individual relationships with hamilton, too. [EDIT: check out this amazing example of jefferson's kate-beaton-nemesis relationship with DEAD HAMILTON, god, american history is the trashiest historical romance ever written and i love it] but really, i would love hamilton/LITERALLY EVERYONE IN THE MUSICAL. take that as you will. and!!! if this is something you're concerned about/struggling with in writing for a Super New Fandom: i'm absolutely on the side of hamilton - miranda fic in contemporary vernacular.

…...i’m on the LMM/groffsauce train. they seem to have so much disgusting fun together and they’re gigantic fucking dorks who adore each other, so if there's a ship, let it be that one?? and they’ve known each other FOREVER. ugh help dig me out of this hole
but, mostly, i love this cast. i love how young and wonderful and articulate and fucking talented and hilarious they are. i would LOVE a massive ensemble fic with appearances from as many of them as possible, something where nothing much happens but it’s fun to read.
also, a note (that i’m borrowing from a friend):
(a note: if you do end up writing this [HAMILTON RPF], i’d like to request that you please archive lock your fic. normally this doesn’t bug me one way or the other for rpf, but since hamilton is currently at a cultural apex, the fandom is very enthusiastic and the young, internet-savvy cast loves to interact with them, it feels like a perfect storm for fourth wall-breaking. archive locking is definitely the safest bet for lmm & co. not finding out that somebody wrote about them kissing or whatever. thank you in advance!!)
[my own totally weird standard is that if LMM is on tumblr every day, and knows about jgroffdaily, i just don’t want to break that last brick of the fourth wall.]

Northanger Abbey - Jane Austen
i’m an english lit person and yet somehow it took me until just a few weeks ago to read northanger abbey-holy fucking shit i fucking loved it. i loved its wry voice and how completely and utterly modern it read in its characterizations and, ugh, just everything. i’d love a story that, more than anything, could get that voice? maybe it could be set during those couple of days at the abbey when general tilney leaves and it’s just catherine, eleanor, and henry hanging out at the house and just being HAPPY? that could be adorable.

as of the writing of this letter, i don’t know what the movie is about except “hot people” “gothic romance” “sins of the past made manifest” and “hot people”, so, uh, YOUR CALL. HOT PEOPLE, SIGHING DRAMATICALLY. gothic romcom au: also amazing. honestly, even after i see it, i’ll probably think exactly the same thing, so vaya con dios into the land of blood and cravats. [EDIT: I SAW THE MOVIE. I STILL DON'T KNOW WHAT I WANT. EPISTOLARY-STYLE BACKSTORY? NO GHOSTS! I DON'T KNOW.]

Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp (TV)
lol ok i would love anything about any of these characters:
- elizabeth banks and chris pine’s whole storyline. don’t let that dirty plaid shirt masquerading as a human man be the last we hear of his stupid face!!!!
- mckinley and ben. forever. especially more of ben’s fucked up home, holy shit, those little glimpses in the show were terrifying. pleeeeease.
- all of camp tigerclaw?? oh my god, i would love a camp tigerclaw fic. maybe they can talk about boat waxing. boats get waxed, right? i read it in a book once.
