The summit of the mountain afforded a spectacular view of the surrounding area, and a strong breeze cooled him off as he turned in a slow circle. Normally Yagisawa felt a great sense of peace at reaching the end of a hike, but this time the foremost thought in his mind was how much he wanted to share the sight with Kohinata. He added the trek to his mental list of places he wanted to enjoy with her someday.

Following Footsteps
Karin hopped carefully through the snow drift, her shoes landing on the tracks in front of her. She didn't want to get her socks full of snow and deal with them being soggy all day. She glanced up at Yasutsugu, who had stopped some distance ahead and turned to watch her progress. Maybe he didn't like soggy socks either, she thought, and that's why he went barefoot everywhere.

3. Cook on each side for three minutes until the fish is crispy.
Cooking was so simple when you broke it down step by step. As long as you followed the instructions you always got the same result. Why, then, couldn't emotions work in the same way?

Unusual Messenger
The little bird in front of her hopped impatiently before it opened it's beak, but Yasukai's voice came out instead of the chirp she expected. "Miko, you will stay inside tomorrow. The impurity in the city is spreading, and that is the only place with a barrier strong enough to protect you." The serious order was incongruous with the curious look on the sparrow's face, and Akane had to hold back a laugh as she assured him she would stay at Fuji-hime's estate as he requested.

Something inside him snapped as he watched Chihiro collapse. His eyes flashed angrily at the fiery bird that had taken her down with a single shot. Not caring a bit for the consequences, Nagi let his power flow freely, enhanced by the strand of magatama beads around his wrist. God or no, Suzaku would pay dearly.

Violet eyes flashed as Takasugi stared back at his friend wordlessly. Ryouma fidgeted, expecting more of a response to his confession, finally throwing his hands up in the air. "Come on, Shinsaku! How else was I going to stop you from using Genbu to drown a bunch of innocent people?"
Choice words came to his mind - that the Englishmen weren't innocent, that he was doing what was necessary to protect his country - but he kept silent and instead reached for the hilt of his sword. Ryouma held his hands in front of himself. "Wait, wait, I can explain!"
In no mood to talk at that point, Takasugi pulled the entire sword, scabbard and all, from his belt and hit his friend upside the head with it. "Now we're even," he growled as he turned and walked away.
