Because Yuffie doesn't write poetry!

Character poetry, after which I shall go off and attempt to write original fic. Possibly crosspossting to Yuffentine, maybe tomorrow; the word because has since poisoned my brain, I can't stop using it. Unnnggh.

Because your ribs were sewn into your
shirt, because you were attempting
to juggle in an empty circus. Because
I was not amused without your smile,
and you smelled like steel and smoke
instead of citrus. Because you wore
red around your neck like love and
passion, and red in your eyes for fear
and fire. Because the rest of you was
black like nowhere in gravity - because
you were pale as pearls and almost
translucent. Because I can imagine you
laughing at a silly joke, before lifting
a hand to hide it - your eyebrows
might soften to a non-angry slant.
Because your nose is so long and pointy
that I stab my cheek when I kiss you.
Try to. Because my aim sucks and I don't
know what to do (because I've never been
in love and you're like fifty-two.)
Because I breathe and you want to die.
Because like sprung up on me and
bit me on the butt. Because my
knees aren't half as scraped as your
heart is. Because I dance in the
rain and your sunlight just runs down
the drain; because I'm not hot and
you are a dish best served cold.
Because I have cats and you
are dozing with the demons, but
never lose your composure while
I-I t-tend t-to s-st-stutter
(and because you make my heart
flutter). Because reasons are
for people who write poems and
I ain't one of them. Because you
will never get to read this, just
Because.

So there.

(I totally lost control of the ending. Ahaha.) I will definitely use some lines in a future fic, which is distressing. I'm actually starting to wonder when this fandom will run out of steam, because it has been frighteningly productive. I never title my poems until I encode them into the compy (I do 90% of poetry on plain old paper), and this one seems more vague than most. I think it's nice imagining the question posed, anyway. ^^*
