I uneventfully arrived in Arizona. Quickly hooked up with Patti and we were off for the almost two hour shuttle ride to Prescott. Had our shades on, talking away, learning about cactus and the small communities we passed. Then, almost on cue for our arrival in Prescott, it began to snow - small, tight flakes. No problem, these won't bother us. Met up with Mom and went to lunch at my favorite spot, Murphy's. When we came out it was WHITE outside with BIG LOOSE flakes falling. You could hardly see across the street. Out came my jacket from the suitcase. Took Mom back to work and Patti and I went to the mall. Had wedding gifts to buy and nylons that I forgot. After da-do-ta-doin' around the mall for a couple of hours we were headin' home when we came outside and discovered it had gotten cold enough that the snow stuck to the roads now. There was someon shoveling the five inches so we could leave the store! Where is the ice scraper?
Mom called so we had to stop at Costco for muffins for her work. Quick run in and I'll keep the car running so it doesn't get covered again. We're off. Oh no! I can't read the street signs because the snow stuck to them. Oh well, I'll know when we've gone too far and know the long way by site. Oh! I know this is it, quick no ones coming, turn!
What is that? Blue sky? Oh look at the sun. Wow! Greeted by Tootsie we go out in the yard to play in the snow and take pictures. The sun is shining, so it's beginning to melt. But then, the sun faded too quickly and while we ate, it snowed again, this time with a strong wind, so even the patio table that remained clean before is covered now.
This morning it looks like we were spared more snow and there is blue sky and the sun is out. It may be gone by tonight, but then, the locals say this is how yesterday started too, with just less snow to start with on the ground. We're off to run some errands for the wedding and see if I can find a sweater clasp, or at least find pieces to make one.
Here's hoping Vegas is warmer!
