I have to share this. In the past couple months, I've become infatuated with the magazine Blackbook, which (I note with a tone of mild amusement) describes itself as "progressive culture." Pretension aside, each issue presents a variety of articles around a common theme. The issue that got me hooked featured articles on the state of entertainment (in the broadest sense of the word - interesting thoughts on some odd little trends). The current issue is about travel and the romantic ideal. One article makes note (complete with review/commentary) of islands that can be rented for vacation, some of which are obscenely expensive. With that, I present Mia Moana in French Polynesia. It's described as an "edenic wonderland," and the author provides the best description of perks ever: "Authentic island delicacies served up by authentic island people will allow you to enact the fetish of the First World colonizer, the thrill of which just might lead to intense fucking on the beach later in the evening. Plus, for an extra charge, you get to feed sharks."
All that for only $480 a night, including breakfast.
