I hit a big stretch of clunkiness at game 4 and went without blanks for five games, after which everything picked back up. I only botched one game that I know of, not blocking all the out bingos (I blocked the two I saw with two tiles in the bag, emptied the bag, and Joey bingoed out for 90 to win by 20 with one that I didn't see). I played a couple what felt like particularly well, but Quackle may disagree. I cheered for Elouise Pearl, 22nd seed, who got to play at table one. I got extremely lucky in round 14 while my opponent got extremely unlucky and won by 389 with only three bingos, and only got the second blank at the very end. I made a blank a Z just so we could have a three Z game in round two. I missed two triple triples (on the same turn) with AGEMNS? through an E in fourth position. I had six opening bingos (some after trading). I traded on first rack when going first three times (-OI keeping DRAIN, -AEIOO keeping EN, -AAIOO keeping AN). In the last game, the first I didn't come out til 57 tiles into the game, on turn 11. Ultimately, my timing was just right and I snuck into second after not being anywhere near contention for most of the middle of the tournament. I love Vermont - I hope to be back next year!
