charlotte - costs 150 to get there (plus the bus to/from the airport), can stay with brett for free, eat pretty cheap. miss two days of work. easiest travel. leaves a big gap b/t tourneys (feb through BAT, with a one-day in concord in between).
arcata - costs a LOT to get there (time/money), get to see tim's family and west coast scrabblers, can stay with sean (tim's brother), eat at val's. miss one day of work plus some during spring break. probably the best timing in terms of times between events and spring break vacationing, worst travel slogging, most expensive, but tim would go which makes it better.
minneapolis - would get to see janelle who i haven't seen in 8? years? could stay for free with binsky and derek. worst timing, middle travel inconvenience, middle cost.
