I had an excellent weekend - not_the_whip came to town for Athfest and we saw lots of shows and played Munchkin and ate too much and drank too much but not too too much, which is really just the right amount, and yes. Eek, long sentence! Anyway, we pretty much followed my planned Athfest schedule, except on Saturday we skipped everything before The Green Hornets and went home after Birds & Wire and I think these were probably excellent decisions.

Today's major accomplishments consist of going to work and consolidating my student loans. Also, forgetting to bring food for favorite coworker's birthday. Whoops.

I'm currently reading the series Mutant X and it's...weird. Like, seriously weird. (For those not familiar, this was an ongoing comic for a few years in which mainstream universe's Havok is switched with an alternate universe's Havok when they both die simultaneously and our Havok just happens to be a time-hole thingy. Our Havok goes on to lead an alternate universe X-Men known as The Six. This alternate universe is the one where all of the weird but ultimately reversible/preventable things that have happened to our well-known X-Men didn't end up getting reversed - so Storm is a vampire, Iceman has no control over his powers, etc.)

The explanation in the parentheses is not very good - I don't summarize so well. *sigh*

Anyway, it's weird. But strangely awesome? Everyone keeps making jokes about Warren (known as The Fallen in this universe, after his encounter with Apocalypse) and how creepy he is. Because Warren's primary activity is lurking. Also, glaring.

Also, Havok is married to Madelyne Pryor who's pretty awesome. And scary.

And did I mention Storm is a vampire? Because it doesn't get old.

Anyway, I'm on issue 5 right now and enjoying it, in a seriously "what the fuck" way.
