R.I.P. (Rest in Pieces) Chevy Lumina

Aug 11, 2005 21:07

Sunday: My car breaks down, Me with the help of Ryan, Devin, Alex, and Ebony push it into a parking lot to sit over night.
Monday: I come get the car and have it towed to the shop.
Tuesday: The shop calls me and tells me I have a blown head gasget and the engine will have to be replaced. I ask them to start looking around for a new engine.
Wednsday: They call me and tell me they've found an engine and give me a price, I tell them I'll think about it.
Thursday: I call them and tell them to go ahead and install the engine.
Monday: I call them to see how things are going. They say they've ordered the engine and it should arrive in a day or two, and say they should have the car ready to go by the end of the week.
Thursday (Today): They call me and say they've recieved the engine, but it's a piece of shit, so much so that I'm better off with my current (broken) engine. They say they've located another engine for me, but unfortunately this other engine is much more expensive (though it does come with a very nice 3-year, 75,000 mile warenty)

1.) Because I can't afford it.
2.) Because it was a cheap car anyways.

I've decided to sell my old friend the Chevy Lumina for scraps. Not quite a fitting end for the car that put up with my shit for a quarter of a year, but at least a part of that car will live on to future generations. God speed, old friend.
