Prepping for Haiku Feature
So I've got to write a lot of haikus.
A feature of all haikus is not new, and Logic did it at First Draft last year. Poets have made careers out of haiku. This is not to say that an all-new poem, all-haiku feature isn't something spectacular. It is! I just hate when cats act like Yoda because they're doing something different. Me? I just like to expose process.
Whenever I have to do really long form work (which is how I'm approaching much of the haiku that will appear at the upcoming feature in January) it's all about inspiration through framing. Kind of like my title technique.
So I've got to write a lot of haikus...after I decide on the themes. I have a couple of juicy ones, but I think I can spice it up a little harder than that.
