Oh puppy...
Bandit gave me a right little scare today. I got home from work to find him, as usual, asleep in one of his three doggie beds (we have one on each level of the house, so as to not make him go up and down stairs too many times a day). Since he is mostly completely deaf, I usually wake him by tapping the bed a little with my foot...he startles awake if you actually touch him, usually, and his old little puppy heart doesn't need anymore shocks. Anyway, I shook the bed once, no reaction. This is odd, he usually pops right up. So I shake it again...nothing! I basically cause his bed to have a small earthquake. Not a movement. I'm obviously worried and basically just like "oh man, not now...not while I'm all alone here...." So, I go in for the last try..reaching down to actually shake him awake with my hand, sure that he'll be cold, but he's warm. So, I shake, then shake harder, and finally, he opens his eyes and pops right up like usual.
Geez....having an old dog is madness...he must have been REAAAALLY asleep...
