We got back from a lovely, relaxing holiday on Saturday. Have spent the last day or so catching up with washing, ironing, shopping & Bookcrossing.
This year again we only managed to see the Cuillen across the water for one day, the rest they were surrounded by the famous mists of the Isle of Skye.
Wildlife watching was very profitable: we spotted a Golden Eagle riding the thermals above us on the Ardnamurchan Peninsula, a truly beautiful & exciting sight my first ever of an eagle BUT once you've seen one ... we saw 2 Sea Eagles, one on the Isle of Mull & on our way back to the cottage one fishing on Loch Moidart. On Friday morning as I sipped my coffee looking out the door of the cottage a little head appeared out of the water, ah a seal I thought, but as I looked through the binoculars & saw an even more exciting sight, a sea otter! These are very shy & elusive creatures & very difficult to spot, so I spent 20 minutes watching it play & fish, lying on its back & eating a fish.
In Fort William on our first Sunday I spied used books for sale outside the One World internet cafe, so I bought a couple. One of which (C: Because cowards get cancer too by John Diamond) my DH read & thoroughly enjoyed, I was amazed it's the first book he's read in years. I wild released 7 books, now to await JEs.
Morven had a ball on the beach as usual, the car is full of sand. She loves the freedom of running around without lead or collar.
Now I had better try & catch up with my flist.
Thanks to all who wished me a happy holiday.
