This Motherhood lark is interesting...and rather eventful if you have a good sense of humour...luckily I possess such a quality :P
Addie and I had a rather, ah, shall we say interesting day? Okay I'll be honest...boring!
First off, she normally sleeps all night through from 11pm to 7am but she woke up at 5:30am, also waking me up coz I now possess "Mummy radar" and wake up at least 30 seconds before she does! Anyway, she snorted, grunted, whimpered and cooed for a minute or so before going all quiet...SCARY WHEN THEY DO THAT!!!! I lean over to peek in her cradle and she's fast asleep again, looking all cute and snuggled. So I go back to sleep, naturally! She wakes up for real at 8am or so and I scoop her up and lay her next to me in the bed to feed her (She's breastfed, and lemme tell ya, Six weeks of sheer agony, perseverance and a bucket load of patience was required). So, there I was, sandwhiched between Russell and Adelaide, Him hugging me from behind, and sweet Addie having breakfast in front. Cute no? It was perfection.
Second round...Addie finishes her feed and I take her downstairs so I can have my morning cup of tea. Russell goes to work and Adelaide and I settle down so I can drink my tea.
I go upstairs to pick out todays outfits for me and Addie and Addie tells me what she thinks of one outfit I considered...she pukes on my shoulder and it gets in my hair....IN MY HAIR PEOPLE!!!! And all over her face!
My mother comes over and has brought me breakfast!!!! A nice scrummie roll on Square Sausage and egg!
My mum and I clean my house, then she goes home.
The health visitor comes over at 2pm to weigh Addie and so on. She hasn't gained anything since Friday, but we're not concerned. She observes me feeding Adelaide and everything goes nicely...until Addie decides to be gross and farts really loudly and...it just keeps going and going. I burst out laughing from sheer mortification.
Then, just when we thought she was done...she fills her nappy with all the delicacy of an atom bomb. The stuff was everywhere! Up her sides, all on her clothes...I had to pick another outfit out for her to wear and then tackle the Nappy of all nappies...it was so gross :(
I then went over to my mums house to help her with her cleaning. My big sis and neice were there too and a jolly good time was had by all. Addie cat napped while I cleaned and she was much loved on by all present.
Time to go home...Russell was back from work and Addie wanted feeding again...but she won't take it...she cries and fights me and generally makes feeding her a difficult task...so I finally give up and express some for her to munch upon.
She is now sleeping peacefully on Russells chest.
And that ladies and germs is a day in the life of me and Adelaide. WOW...Whatever did I do before she came?
Tomorrow, Adelaide will entertain us with an account of her day through her eyes...stay tuned!
