My mere presence seems to kill houseplants.
We bought cilantro, dill and mint in pots from the farmer's market a couple of weeks ago. Brought it home, stuck it in a sunny window. Grew like weeds. Watered it all twice a week because it seemed to like it. Cilantro started getting yellow leaves. I said "shit, it's rootbound," and it was. Bought two (indoor) windowsill planters, transferred the plants. Cilantro died anyway, and I get why now, that was my fault -- it got too hot in its dark green container and bolted (used up all its energy trying to make seeds really fast).
But now the dill and mint are starting get yellow leaves. And they were really happy just now before I repotted them, didn't look too rootbound or anything. The dill is even still growing a centimeter a day, it's just turning yellow on its lower branches. And the mint seems randomly yellowing -- some of the oldest, largest leaves, as well as some of the tiny new ones. Dammit!
