Thanks to a heads up a few weeks back from rchj, I was able to see fantasy George R.R. Martin speak at Stacey's books today, to answer questions and sign copies of his book, A Feast for Crows.  I found him to be a pleasant, jolly sort of fellow, polite even to the rather uncouth young man who asked him why he was "such an asshole to your characters."

Finished A Storm of Swords, the third book in George R.R. Martin's Song of Ice and Fire series, the other day.  If you like fantasy with a pseudo-historical, realistic edge, I highly reocmmend it.  But be warned - you may be left wondering, by the end of the third book, if there will be any living characters by the time it all ends up!

Looks like WB have found their Voldemort; relax, it isn't Rowan Atkinson.

I'm pretty damn happy with this choice, although I maintain that by the time book seven rolls around to the screen they will have used up every actor in the British Isles.
