Omg, I am so late with this review, tomorrow it will not even be relevant. But I had SO MANY THOUGHTS and it literally took DAYS to write this and I should just never write reviews. Anyway, a mixture of squee, critique and unpopular opinions (and a defense of Matt) ahead. And of course, spoilers.

I miss their friendship SO MUCH. I've always been weirdly invested in their bromance, then show took it away and I was sad forever.

god, ME TOO. i just found them kind of fascinating and also kind of shipped them a bit? in a bromancey way? whatever, sometimes it is hard to differentiate.

actually, it wasn't until season two that i started loving tyler/jeremy, because all of season one, when everyone was shipping them the most i was just like, "guys, don't you see? he is clearly not over matt." he just, he whines so much when he starts dating caroline, okay? and then, show took away tyler/jeremy too, because they must ruin every bromance ever. show, why are you sometimes the worst?

No, I know how you feel! I thought I shipped it, but then I realized I felt like Matt was just really a straight person (which is odd for me because I tend to think of all characters as kind of fluidly bisexual), but Matt kind of pings to me as a straight guy, so whatever shipping I shipped, it was one-sided. BUT THEY STILL LOVE EACH OTHER THE MOST. I have all this head canon where Matt is where Tyler went when things got rough and messed up at home, so it reaaaally confused me when on the show, Tyler thought he was all alone :\

And yes, THAT! Tyler got all the Matt!Time, then Caroline came and was stealing all his Matt!time, so he hated her. I think this is why I can't ship Tyler/Caroline (besides the fact I kind of see them like siblings neither of them really wanted, but got anyway) because they both love Matt too much. I so wanted a scene where they got drunk and talked about how much they loved Matt, then drunk-dialed him and Matt being endlessly confused. Show is just mean and cruel like that, unfortunately :\

RIGHT? i wanted so badly for matt to be the one that tyler went to with the whole werewolf thing, like bonnie did with elena in 1x08, all I AM BECOMING SOMETHING. though, actually i wanted him to continue to confide in jeremy too, and bond with caroline about being thrust into this ridiculous, supernatural world, and tbh i just felt like that whole thing should have been this massive group effort, but it wasn't. and i was sad.

but, YES, about one-sided feelings and matt always being the one that tyler went to when things were bad at home, even though most times he came over it was to an empty house, AND THEY JUST BOTH NEEDED EACH OTHER. THEY STILL DO.

i wonder partially if the reason why i do kind of ship tyler/caroline is because they both love matt so much. kind of like how my favorite damon/elena moment is about how much they both love stefan. idk, apparently i can not ship two people like a normal person, everything turns into threesomes. BUT HOW MUCH DO I WANT THAT SCENE? so, so much. and also, YES THE MOST about them being ( ... )
