Omg, I am so late with this review, tomorrow it will not even be relevant. But I had SO MANY THOUGHTS and it literally took DAYS to write this and I should just never write reviews. Anyway, a mixture of squee, critique and unpopular opinions (and a defense of Matt) ahead. And of course, spoilers.

RIGHT? i wanted so badly for matt to be the one that tyler went to with the whole werewolf thing, like bonnie did with elena in 1x08, all I AM BECOMING SOMETHING. though, actually i wanted him to continue to confide in jeremy too, and bond with caroline about being thrust into this ridiculous, supernatural world, and tbh i just felt like that whole thing should have been this massive group effort, but it wasn't. and i was sad.

but, YES, about one-sided feelings and matt always being the one that tyler went to when things were bad at home, even though most times he came over it was to an empty house, AND THEY JUST BOTH NEEDED EACH OTHER. THEY STILL DO.

i wonder partially if the reason why i do kind of ship tyler/caroline is because they both love matt so much. kind of like how my favorite damon/elena moment is about how much they both love stefan. idk, apparently i can not ship two people like a normal person, everything turns into threesomes. BUT HOW MUCH DO I WANT THAT SCENE? so, so much. and also, YES THE MOST about them being like the siblings they never wanted, because they all grew up in each other's pockets, but these two, THE COUNCIL! FOUNDING FAMILIES! i always felt like, especially in season one, that it felt kind of lived in and comfortable when they had scenes together, and i always sort of loved that about them.
