Ahhh.. the weekend.
It was a marvelous time. I went to Emily's after sleeping for a short period of time on Thursday morning. I worked from 11pm-7am and then tried to sleep right under my skylight because my bedding was being changed over for my brother who was arriving home Thursday evening. That didn't work well. Plus, I was excited to go see Emily.
So, I headed up to W. St. Paul around Noonen in the sweltering heat (note: no air conditioning) and picked Emily up from work. We had a great afternoon of lounging and swimming and just being together. We also saw an old classmate, Rachel McCluen, in a Shakespeare in the Park production of "Comedy of Errors" in Loring Park. I also gave Emily her presents. I gave her a bunch and really enjoyed watching her face as she slowly tore open the wrapping paper on the different gifts. Thursday was a fantastic day. So amazing.
Friday was great too. I slept in, as Emily had to go to work, and didn't wake up until 11. I hadn't "really" slept since Wednesday from noon to six-thirty, so I was beat tired. I got up and started reading a book while I waited for Emily and her mum to get home from work around 1pm. I bought a book called "One for the Road" by a man who hitchhiked in the outback on a whim. So far, I like it. We then ate a fantastic dinner with her Grandparents and mom and had raw and fried kibbi (Lebanese meat deal) and swam more before getting ready for the GRAND PARTY!!! CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY. Emily and I met Mac Dub, Levi and Matt Gillen at the Block e theatres in Downtown MPLS and watched the great movie. It was so good. I loved it. Depp was perfect for the script. Definately worth seeing. It was a relaxing night thereafter.
Saturday, Emily and I took our time getting up and I'm pretty sure we swam then too, but we also went to the Rosedale Mall. I didn't find anything I really liked. Oh, and I also got some great clothes that Emily had purchased for me that she found on a sale rack at Marshall Fields. I got two shirts and two sportcoats. The Ralph Lauren coats are a great fit and were a great price. The shirts are perfect too. Emily can shop for me anyday. I haven't paid Emily for it all yet... but I will.
After an early Mass at Emily's church, it was off to N.U. for the annual Heritagefest Parade. Emily drove down for the afternoon and I was really happy that she was able to see Anton and my close relatives and family friends. We went to Heritagefest for a little bit, but it was pretty low key and boring by Sunday at 4pm. Funnelcake, however, is never low key and always amazingly un-boring. Mmmmm.
So, now I'm tired. And I want to nap. I'll start missing Emily in about an hour and I must say, she is the best thing that has ever happened to me. She is an amazing girl. I am lucky beyond compare.
