She waits outside. It seems better out here, for some reason - the shadowshapes don't flicker at vision's edge, and all is mostly quiet.
Heels clicking against the street, all gears and brass now flattened down to practical soles, Dawn pauses to admire her new shoes.
Didn't even have to steal them. Which is totally, like ...a bonus.
She slips her Forge into the messenger back she's worn crossways over her chest and leans against the wall. Moments pass, and she barely moves. She's staring at the sky. Or through it, really.
