There had been no other choice but to head out from her apartment. Her apartment had almost run out of food, and while neither Cloud or herself were large eaters, she much preferred to have a little stocked up. She had threatened Cloud with bodily harm if he even thought about getting up. He wasn't in any condition to head out. It wasn't like she actually cared for him. Why would she? He had been the one who had knocked her out a few days back, and she still had the large bruise against her temple because of it.

She hadn't been out for long, and held the bag of groceries within her arms as she entered back into the apartments. Moving up the stairwell, the Mord Sith's pace slowed as she felt something odd in the air. It almost felt like... magic, but that couldn't be right, could it?

Heading out into the hallway, Cara glanced up and down the corridor before she found her gaze settling on one door in particular. Whatever it was, it was coming from beyond there. She slowly crouched down to place the bag on the floor before unhooking the Agiel from her belt. It was possible that it could be the killer, and she'd be damned to the Keeper if she'd allow for him to harm anyone else.

Cara moved silently down the hall and towards the door. Pressing her back up against the wall, she paused long enough to hear anything that might be amiss. There didn't seem to be anything, and after a couple of moments listening, the Mord Sith couldn't hear anything. If she was going to do it then she would do it now.

Her grip around her Agiel tightened as Cara was on the move. Spinning around, she booted her foot against the door, kicking it open before bursting into the room. Her gaze automatically scanned the room for any signs of a threat or movement, but she found nothing but the body lying down on the bed... a very familiar body at that.

"Near...?" Cara found herself asking as she relaxed her posture and huffed softly in amusement. It seemed a little dysfunctional to leave a dead body on a bed and not buried beneath the ground. There was still that odd sense of whatever on the air, and she found herself approaching Near's still form on the bed. She glanced dispassionately along his still and pale form. Obviously that strange friend of his had changed his clothes, but there was still blood dried and crusted in spots of the corpse's hair.

"You were rather easy to find," She muttered with a hint of amusement on her tone as she reached out and poked his chest with the tip of her Angiel, "I guess I should say sorry that I didn't get there in time."
