Who: Sakuya Kira (slouchingbedlam) & Michael (reddenedrage)
When: November 17. Morning?
Where: Dismas.
Format: Prose.
What: For one of them, it will be an unexpected reunion between estranged brothers. For the other, it will be a flash of fire illuminating the memories of a life he recognizes, but isn't certain he wants to know.
Warnings: Michael has brother issues and temper issues. Kira is Kira (is Lucifer). (With amnesia, but still.) Language, violence, stuff? TL;DR.

The motorcycle had been an indulgence. Really, why not? Kira hadn't quite accepted the fact he seemed to be stuck in this 'Anatole' and that, in the month and a half he'd been here, he hadn't yet found a way to get back to his world. There were still options to try; he hadn't given up yet. He had yet to venture out into the so-called Mist, but he wasn't stupid. He could feel the power that the air around him held.

And then there had been all that shit with the war and the attacks a while ago. Kira had kept a low profile during all of that, not wanting to have anything to do with the business of this world. It was during then that he'd found the underground city, actually. He found it much easier to escape from all the fighting in the dim, darkness of Dismas than in the open-aired ground of Anatole. It had been an interesting several days, that. This world certainly wasn't meant to be underestimated. What an annoying challenge it presented, standing in the way of his getting back to his own world.

In any case, he'd decided that he would take his time, observing, figuring out his options. Kira had realized early on that, without angels and demons, without an oncoming apocalypse, without Setsuna, there really wasn't much he could occupy himself with. He didn't miss the brat, nor did he miss any of the other idiots in the entourage that he'd somehow gathered. (Morons, all of them. Really.) He was just... bored without them.

This was what he got for chasing after a woman for centuries. What a stupid way to waste his time. Habit was hard to break, he supposed. Figured, didn't it? When one suddenly became unable to do something one has been doing for this long, suddenly pulled from that orbit, of course it would be like there was no more aim, no more direction. Boredom. Exactly.

Which was why he'd went for the motorcycle. Nothing else to do, right? And the last time he'd rode one, it had been stolen and he'd gotten arrested, but he remembered it had been good, distracting fun. The Tunnelmen were strange, portly beings, but he found them likable enough. They didn't try to talk too much and when they did, only said what they had to, which was just fine with Kira. He'd almost welcomed the week it would take for them to complete his order. It was another week he could spend with something to look forward to-- hah, that sounded desperate, didn't it? Fuck that. The motorcycle had sounded cool when the Tunnelmen had described it to him, so he wanted one. That was it.

Dismas was a dark and unwelcome sort of place, but Kira didn't care either way. The atmosphere didn't bother him much, although he did find it annoying that he'd had to bring out Shiranui several times already. It was the underworld of Anatole, after all, complete with all the sorts of things Kira would expect to find in a place like this. Maybe if he got bored later, he'd explore a little deeper.

But for now, he skirted the strangers that inhabited this underground. He had something to collect, after all. By District 4 or something, not that there was any map he could follow. Ah well, he'd get there eventually.

[LJ-cut Text: Verse 29 from the Surat Al-Ma'ida in the Qur'an, talking about the brothers, Cain and Abel, though they are not mentioned by name, as they are in the Bible's Genesis book. Text found from here.]
