He would have found a place to stay already, but as he was stuck in this one little city with no escape routes, the better way was to play nice. It wouldn't do to manifest an Olympic-like palace in the middle of the city if he wanted to keep lying low - relatively low, anyway. He was a trickster after all.
He made himself visible and strolled up to the front door and knocked.]
Yoohoo! Anyone home? I'm here for the tour.

And. Oh. What. There's a deity on his porch. Divine... something. Sebastian thought he sensed something unpleasant on his way to the foyer.
But he doesn't show his reaction on his face. He just smiles like a polite butler would.]
Ah, very well, sir. And good evening to you. You are interested in seeing the rooms available for rent, then?
[He's not sure what else "the tour" is supposed to mean.]
Reply
Besides, this one was polite and had posted the rooms for rent notice. ... Unless it was a ruse to lure in easy munchies. The possibility gave Trickster even more of a reason to look around the place even though he didn't sense anything amiss.]
The rooms, yes. And the grounds, the common areas, the kitchens, maybe the basement. I'd like to get a feel for the place. It's a big decision, you know?

[A demanding deity, no less. But he hasn't called Sebastian out on the spot, so he'll return the courtesy.]
Please, come in. [He steps aside to let the god into the foyer.] And allow me to introduce myself. My name is Sebastian Michaelis, and I am butler to this household.
[And the Patrol, but he's not sure he wants to tell this bloke where he works.]

[Trickster gave Sebastian a look and an exaggerated wink as if to say don't spill mine and I won't spill yours. He stepped inside the mansion and took a look around. A bit drab and the ceiling hadn't been scrubbed in ages, but the floors were clean. Someone was trying to keep the place up.]
Nice meeting ya, Sebastian. Have you been in Anatole long?
Reply
I see. It's a... pleasure, Mr. Trickster.
[It's more pleasant than being insulted or having a scythe at his throat, at any rate. Sebastian closes the front door and turns back to face the possible tenant.]
A good while now, almost nine months. Please, follow me and I will show you the available rooms straightaway.
[Without further ado he heads toward the nearby hall with its winding staircase, glancing back to make sure Trickster is following.]
And yourself? How long have you been in Anatole?
Reply
How'd you end up a butler?
[Trickster flashed a small smile that was mostly a smirk and followed the demon. It was obviously anything but a pleasure to have interlopers tromp through the demon's territory. Not to mention that Trickster could smite him to ash as an afterthought if he wished. Talk about being out of your element if this demon was used to being the top of his food chain.
He didn't really need a place to live, but he could already see the possibilities in this place. Besides, he was feeling lonely and nostalgic and in need of a distraction.]

[No, Sebastian has certainly not been used to that. But he hasn't had many beings around able to identify his true nature on sight and do something about it, so this is... different.
Especially since not one, but two of them have been interested in renting space in his house in the last few days.]
I am a butler because my master wished for me to be one.
[No sense trying to get around that fact. If Trickster stuck around for more than a few minutes he would undoubtedly figured that out for himself. Sebastian doesn't even hesitate on his way upstairs as he says so.]

[Not to mention that there were so many other uses for a bound demon... most ended up assassins or worse and the whole thing ended up a bloody mess. A butler? That was the tamest thing he'd ever heard of. He followed Sebastian, morbidly wondering what it would take to make him snap.]
A little polish and elbow grease and you'd have a decent place here.

[Well, this certainly isn't the conversation he was expecting to have with a potential renter. He frowns, because there are several things in Trickster's statements he doesn't agree with. Serving a higher demon would be the boring job. Humans are the entertaining creatures, which is why, yes, he'll even be a butler to one. Just the fact that it's unexpected is what makes the whole arrangement interesting.]
I don't intend to break it.
[He might as well make that clear, as well. Although he'd certainly been thinking about his own existence and purpose a month or so ago, when Ciel had disappeared. If his master hadn't returned, Sebastian might have had to decide what to do, despite being confined to the form and role the contract with the boy had given him.
But Ciel is back, and things, it seems, are returning to as they were in their own world. Well, aside from the usual obstacles Anatole tosses in their direction.
Sebastian walks down the second floor hallway and opens the nearest available door. The room has an ( ... )

He could tell that he was already getting on Sebastian's nerves and being bound, there wasn't much he could do about it. Meeting the human he was bound to was sure to be interesting as well.]
It's ok. How about the rest of the place?
[He conjured a chocolate bar and took a bite out of it, turning to the demon. Trickster had no intentions of going easy on him. A neutered demon was still a demon, no matter the packaging. That was a lesson that was never forgotten. His brother was a sick son-of-a-bitch for creating them in the first place.]

What would you like to see first?
Reply
The rest of the house first, then the grounds. Who else lives here?
[Trickster could sense a few others on the premises, but didn't want to reveal any of his cards just yet.]

[He turns and leads Trickster back the way they came, down the stairs.]
There is my master, the Earl Ciel Phantomhive. We also have a maid with us from our own world. There are other interested parties for the rooms as well, of course.
Reply
That's all your staff for a place this big? How do you manage it?
[Not well by the state of things. Trickster was less interesting in getting an answer than he was in judging Sebastian's reaction to the questions.]
Reply
[Which is why Sebastian is humouring you now at all.]
Others interested have already volunteered to help with the upkeep of the property, so I suspect the entire undertaking will help a great deal.
