[closed] the wretches have gone awry, I saw them walk on by

Who: iamgettinghot and trephaestos (w. lumenrelegandus cameo)
When: After this
Where: The Clinic ['s newly established enclosed courtyard]
Format: Starting with prose, Aya's choice how it continues!
What: The blind leading the blind. A newbie wants to figure out what's going on from another newbie, rather than anyone who's actually been here for more than a week (to have been brainwashed or in on the conspiracy or…?)
Warnings: If you're queasy about parasites you probably don't want to spend too much time with these two…?
Note: Set-up from Lupin's POV to explain why it's taking Trep so long to get out of the Clinic, w. Shirley's concurrence. Otherwise Loop's not part of this log.

The burned man had been delivered straight to the clinic from the Door. His blackened skin covered deeper tissue damage, he was severely malnourished and dehydrated, and most serious were his lungs full of ash and toxins.

Shirley had left him alone.

Lupin stabilised him, then he went after Shirley. Only to discover that Shirley's powers (as she had already known, without having to try), on this case, had no effect.

So it fell to Lupin to work on him. That was a more laboured, gradual process, more dependent on supplementing and speeding up the body's own healing processes than repairing (miraculously) instantaneously. Then, as Trepkos regained strength and awareness, half the time Lupin had to relegate tasks to Anatolean volunteers to perform conventionally, as Trepkos would become too wild and resistant at the hint of any method (i.e. magic) he didn't recognise, or he judged to be mind-altering.

Which was why, when Lupin led Aya in for her visit-glad if rather surprised that such a thing was happening at all-Trepkos was in the central courtyard, sitting in a wheelchair.
