Are you going to try to have fun even though you aren't getting paid?

Of course. I always endeavor to please a lady. Even when she refuses my suggestion of a shawl.

Um...thanks for coming with me. [She wondered what John was doing...he probably would find himself another girl easily.]

I couldn't leave you unescorted, after all. I'm at your leisure tonight.

you all know this mysterious masked man is the most manly man at this party. he is the man you wish your man could be. let's make it worse and mention the fact that he looks like a gqmf in that suit and he's totally got a hot date. together, they are probably the 'hottest masquerade couple' and you know it.
you jelly?
manliness and shenanigans aside, he's actually here for a reason! and it's not because a small child told him to escort shirley, nope, not entirely. he's here to do some recon hell yeah, and scope out some native political climate. time to eavesdrop these bitches. ]

Have you discovered anything of interest?
[yeah, she knows you are eavesdropping. and thinks it a little funny while she sips her champagne.]

A few things. Anything useful? Less so.
[ his wine is untouched! something to make him look busy as he watches and ghosts about and listens more. half the time, the natives don't realize he's there until he's gone. ]

She might even stay quiet long enough to keep that impression alive. (But it was unlikely.)]
[[ooc: now with 100% more awesome thanks to Tonks-mun.]]

You look beautiful.
[as she expected in that dress.]

I have you to thank for that, you know. I can't thank you enough. [A bit of a self-depreciating grin follows.] I'm no good with picking these kinds of things out. You're really a miracle-worker.

[really, sellus. you're adorable.]

Nobody can see it, but she's grinning behind the black opaque surface as she watches the goings-on. She wanders about, swinging her arms with barely-contained energy as she admires the park, its lights and decorations and the people in all their finery.]

You are totally rockin' that suit and it looks ever cooler in person. You've probably got the most awesome gear at this party.

Thanks. [The helm also distorts her voice, making it sound deeper, more mechanical, and a touch metallic.] I like your mask. How many computer and watch parts did you derezz to make that thing? [Her laugh is tinny, but genuine.]

Er, thanks. I managed to find work with a few of the locals and they agreed to help me find parts for the project. Plus with the city getting trashed recently, there was a lot of scrap out that was easy to find and claim.
