[She chuckles a little at how quickly he downs it, and takes a slightly more controlled sip of her own drink.] Living here? Ah, well... it's a little inconvenient, since I have things I need to do back home, but. [A lot inconvenient, actually, but who's counting?]

I guess it's also a good thing. All the people from different times and places-- there's a lot to learn. I think I like that, the opportunities it gives.

Besides, there's no one here telling me what to do.

[A shrug and another sip.] Picking my battles, mostly. I need their help, so sometimes I let them think they're in charge. It's a little annoying, but it's too tiring otherwise.

There are so many sweet people! I only wish I could take them all home with me.

Ah, one for sweets, huh? [Impulse control? What's that? She ruffles his hair affectionately. She gets cheery when she's been drinking, after all.] That's true too, though-- the people here are... mostly nicer than the ones back home.

I wish I could see where everyone else comes from, though. It's got to be more interesting than my home.

Yes, I'd say so. It's days and days trapped in the same place, listening to boring people talk about boring things. It used to be a lot more interesting, but that was a long time ago-- there're no battlefields that need me anymore. All the wars are fought with words nowadays. Lots... and lots of words.

Ah, well, I was really devoted to my research, so I don't know much about how the world was when I left it. I'm a little disappointed - it looked like something interesting had finally been going to happen.
