[Were you captured by elves?]

[Have you been to their camp?]

[If the answer to either of these questions is "yes," then you may recognize this - a large rock near the center of the cage area. A destroyed cooking fire stands to the left the screen. In the distance, you can see words spelled out in... bone. Or some sort of white stone. Maybe.]

[From this angle, it's hard to tell.]

[What you can tell is that Roxanne is sitting on the rock, bathed in the red-gold light of the rising dawn. She looks rather upbeat today. Despite the red streak marring the silver blade of the massive two-handed Claymore she's balanced across her knees. Her hands lye on the flat of the blade, and she... smiles.]

It's good to see that every thing is beginning to settle down. I have to admit, that was a rather different means of introduction to the city. Is it common for people to be kidnapped and killed by pointy-eared warriors? I'd thought this place was... more or less similar to home - the monsters, the suspicious locals, that sort of thing. But if this kind of thing happens regularly then I guess there's a great deal of adjustment to do after all.

[She glances off toward the letters, and before any human eye could register movement, she's standing beside those words, pointing the camera down at them.]

"We are not the only ones."

[Her voice is flat, quiet. And she goes silent for a few seconds, after she speaks.]

That's an ominous message, isn't it? Well, in any case, I'm sure everything will be all right. With such strong and valiant defenders, this city couldn't possibly fall before something as simple as a group of savages, even if there are a great many of them. In fact! I have to say, I found myself very impressed by a number of the people who fought in the streets these past few days. There is no substitute for that kind of skill... or that kind of power.

I find myself wishing I had more of it, myself.

[She twists the Forge around to recapture her face just as she gives a sunny smile. Her lips are red as the blood on her blade; red as the fiery dawn.]

It's been an honor to fight at your sides, valiant warriors. You have all of my admiration!

[Private to... Teresa.]

I have to admit, as one Number One to another, I was very taken with your skill and grace during that battle. I've never seen anything like it, especially not from anyone of my era. I can imagine something like that coming from an older and more experienced warrior like Isley, but for someone still relatively young, it's really very amazing.

Have you been an active warrior for very long?

[ooc: ...sleeptime! tags later!]
