Friends.
[There's a touch of surprise to his tone. It's not a word he uses often, and even less in relation to himself. But if he compares the way he's been consistently treated by several residents of Anatole, there is no better way to describe them.]

No, you are correct. In my own world, there is only one person I would describe that way.
[And only because Agni has identified himself as such more than once.]
Circumstances in Anatole are much different than in my world. There is much I've had to adapt to.
[Including a lot more people who seem to inexplicably like him.]

Indeed. I am a butler there, just as I am one here. The Patrol presents a larger household than I was used to, but I found it easy to adapt to.
[He smiles softly, almost wistfully.] I suppose you could say I am a butler to the core.

Well, I hope you take pride in that. Loyalty to one's duty is an admirable thing, Sebastian, and you're not exactly bad at what you do.
Could it also be... er, well. People don't exactly put stock in class differences here, outside all of that Scorched-Native nonsense.

[Although it's not exactly loyalty. Loyalty suggests respect for those he serves, and honour to be in his position, neither of which fit the motives behind his actions. But keeping the charade going this long, and having all of these people believe him to be a harmless domestic is amusement enough to keep it going. Perhaps he is trading one game with his master for another with the citizens of Anatole, but it doesn't take much to entertain him. And so it will continue, for the time being.]
You are correct. There is an equalising factor I'm still growing accustomed to. It is very different from my world. I imagine that's the case for many of us.
