There are a flash of memories in this dream, to go through everything would be too detailed with a Bookman's extensive memory.
The face of a young man with a happy grin and dark hair, a Finder named Doug. Information automatically supplied and filled in before it can be asked, "Nice to meet you, Lavi."
Yet you - Lavi - never look Doug in the eyes, the feeling is...
Cold.
"Your eye is like glass. It reflects me, but that's all. Nothing reaches inside."
Years flip by with glimpses of fights and battles until Doug shows up once again, this time meeting your gaze, Lavi's gaze, eyes narrowing. "You're a little different, Lavi."
"Huh? How so?"
A smile and kind eyes, "Now you actually meet my eyes when we talk."
There's a warmer feeling around the memories now.
More memories go by but it feels like these are all closer together, the span of a few days maybe. A small servant girl - Colette - and Doug being all protective of her, a large diamond...
Akuma.
The monster disappears, defeated in a flash of fire and is replaced by a stone ceiling, the feeling of being...home.
A scream reaches your ears, Lavi's ears, and you move like a shot to find the cause. It couldn't be an Akuma.
Could it?
Not within the Order.
But in the hall there lies a pile of bodies, clues pointing you in the direction of the person responsible for their deaths. And you finds Doug.
Covered in blood.
He spins the tale, telling you or Lavi - it's hard to tell now who is who - that Colette was killed because her master thought she stole the diamond. Doug who gave in to the Millenium Earl at the girl's death, the little girl he was going to take in and take care of.
Doug starts tearing at his skin, revealing another monster like before, another Level Two.
Reluctantly you fight.
Fight to protect your home. Fight to save your friend. Fight to save Colette's soul.
Yet when the Akuma falls...
Tears do too.
