Tonks Magic Show, Take Two the Magical Boogaloo!

[ Merlin had asked Tonks to put on a show. Tonks said yes. ]

[ Her show is not like her last one. Nope, it is story time with Tonks. The tale? The Story of El-ahrairah and the Black Rabbit of Inlé. It is a favorite chapter from one of her most favorite books. She thinks the story will appeal to Arthur, a leader trying to save his people.

It's a grand illusion. Tonks sits off to the side and directs the scene with her wand. She's put quite a bit of practice into this.

Her illusion even has differing voices for the rabbits. Tonks is just the narrator. ]

"I have learned that with creatures one loves, suffering is not the only thing for which one may pity them. A rabbit who does not know when a gift has made him safe is poorer than a slug, even though he may think otherwise himself."

[ And so the story goes... ]

[Yachiru has inched forward so far now that she is practically in the middle of the illusion. She reaches toward the Black Rabbit, almost close enough to touch.]

Is he supposed to be a god?

[ Yachiru. x_x ]

[ Tonks waits until after her story is over before answering. Yes, she's just going to move the illusion around Yachiru. ]

No, he represents Death.

But you can't talk to death!

[She knows because she deals with it all the time.]

It's just something that happens to people!

[ Yachiru. X_X ]

It's a fictional representation, a metaphor.

That's silly! And that little bunny had a lot of weird ideas. Why would he think playing games would help his people? He should have just fought!

[This is what kids are like, Tonks. Or what Yachiru is like at least. Lots of QUESTIONS.]

I suppose it's because rabbits don't have many defenses other than speed to keep them from being eaten.

[ Don't see her short. Yachiru is a special case. Most kids can't put away an entire bakery's worth of cupcakes and muffins. ]

He should get a sword! That's what I did and now nobody can just beat me up! 'Cause I was kinda like the little bunny once.

[She says it almost offhand, a faraway fact she accepted long ago, got over long ago. But there is something serious under her smile, too.]

Most bunnies can't hold a sword. They don't have the thumbs.

My bunny doesn't have thumbs but she has a sword. She has duels with my kitty!

Who usually wins?

Sometimes Pachi-chan, sometimes Lilla. Sometimes it's a draw!

[ sitting away from the illusion as well. but close enough to tonks her voice doesn't raise. she is sipping a glass of booze because i just can't help myself from lush jokes. ]
