Break stuff
I'm in an extremely foul humor today for two reasons. The first was an incident of rudeness that happened last night; the second was some avoidable nastiness that happened this morning. I'm not going to get into the details on either - the former because it would ignite some misguided political backlash among some readers, whom I would then light up right in the comments; the latter because it's a family thing and I don't really want to air it too much. Any case, the reason why I've brought it up is because these, combined with some money management issues which are rather stressful (and which I also don't want to get into), plus the fact that I'm feeling a bit rundown and I think I'm getting a cold, will make me a real bitch to get along with today...so I'll just apologize in advance.
(Aaaaaand the train has come to a complete halt outside of Behnke's in Beltsville because, apparently, there's a work detail of some kind on the tracks ahead, and they can't raise an "employee in charge" to get them to move. Of such things are explosive disgruntlements made.)
I need to ask a favor of the local folks. Is there anyone who'd be able to give me a lift from Greenbelt to Laurel on Friday evening at around 2015 or so? I need to head over to the Dupont Circle area at 1830 to do a job for the Green Party, and there's no guarantee I'll be able to get to Union Station by 1935 to catch the last train to Laurel. The alternative is to get the Metro out as close as possible and get a lift from there (though there might be a bus). EDIT: It looks like Bus 87 might go to Laurel, but there's no timetable or list of stops online. Thanks, WMATA, for a site that is a model of user-hostility.
