I don't know what the hell is going on. OHH MIGHTY MIGHTY. My life is in a whirlwind, and I can't seem to get down!
I went shopping today. Now that is a fairly rare occorance in my household; 1. Because I am a tight wad, 2. I don't like new things, and 3. I don't really like shopping for myself. But alas, I went anyways. I had a gift card from my parents for my favorite outdoor store, REI. SO I made the almost hour trek up there to find something nice to buy myself for my birthday. I'll give myself some credit, I did get some pretty kick ass shit. A new tent, a new sleeping bag, 2 new pairs of socks to wear with my birks, and a new backpack!!! Yea. So now I need to start maybe thinking about going camping or something. I thought about in the meantime, just setting it up in the yard and sleeping outside. Maybe. Anyways, the shopping didn't end there, for some reason I got back on the freeway, but was going the wrong direction. (north, instead of south.) SO long story short, I ended up getting off the freeway like 10 miles down the raod, and BAMMM!! a mall. So I thought to myself, I could use a break from driving, i'll just stroll through and then head back home. After another 90 minutes shopping, I had bought myself a new watch, which I REALLY like, 2 new shirts, and trated myself to a mocha. All in all a good shopping trip. If I had found a new pair of shoes, it would have been a little better, but I think my bank account is happy I didn't find any.
Tomorrow is memorial day. Before I went to go see shrek 2 (which I will talk about in the next paraghraph) I watched a really sad memorial day tribute on PBS. Usually I don't like watching things like that, cause they just make me sad, and cry. Well, I saw that tom hanks was there, and that they were honering WW2 vets and all (being that today they dedicated the WW2 memorial today, which I also watched). So anyways, I only caught like the last 45 minutes or so, but damn, if they replay it, you have to watch it, it was so touching, they really did the vets an honor. They also displayed all the names of the US soliers killed in both Iraq and Afghanastan. =(. It was sad. But the kind of sad that kinda makes you proud to be an american. I don't very often say that, but, there ya go.
So I went and saw Shrek 2 tonight. HOLY SHIT!! its funny. There was a pretty mixed crowd there, 3-70, and really, its the funniest movie i've seen in a while. Good balance of cute animationa, and funny cinical sick adult humor. A MUST SEE. I am probably going to go see it again, if I can drag someone else to go see it with me again. Really, drop everyhting and go see it right now, even if the theatre is closed, just wait outside until it opens back up, and see the first show.
I hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday weekend. Don't forget why we all get this long weekend off. If you see a uniformed Service member, or a veteren, shake there hand and say thank you, please, its the least you can do. In fact shake a few hands on monday.
Take care gents, and gals. Talk to ya soon.

PS~ this song makes me very sad, but I can't stop listening to it.
