"So you can't smell any extra undead around here? Like can you block out the dead, and decipher the...not-so-dead dead?"
I shrugged and looked around the graveyard again. There was something here, but it was still hard to tell exactly what. Death was everywhere in the town, not just like normal in the graveyards. Maybe it had something to do with that this town wasn't technically supposed to be standing right now. Yeah, I'd say that had something to do with it.
"It's strange. There's death here.. not vampire or even human necessarily. Just death." Saying it outloud didn't sound any better than it had in my head.
"I guess that's not exactly what you were looking for, huh?"
"Okay, a town doesn't pop up and all of a sudden have a clean cut graveyard. There's gotta be something here. Anything evil, because the world doesn't work this way. Graveyards are the place where vampires lurk, and are...born for that matter, so there's gotta be something here because I don't think I can take another dead end tonight."I felt my hand

"It's strange. There's death here.. not vampire or even human necessarily. Just death."
I looked at him with a cocked eyebrow, then I mocked, because we were on joking terms...right?
"Death, huh? Because this being a cemetary and all, it wouldn't be obvious or anything."
I smiled at him when he gave me that look. I totally missed that look. He stopped at some monument type thing, that in all my years of Sunnydale graveyard slaying, I hadn't really paid attention to it...or was it even there? Little things like that always just...escape my visual memory. the thing was, well-- it wasn't little at all.
"What is it?" Something was up, because that look that Angel gave was means for me to panic. Something was up, and now, since Angel had just showcased that look that always used to make me uncomfortable, I was feeling that something was up. That was a good thing and a bad thing. Good thing was that--well, we had a good chance of getting answers. bad thing had to do with the life factor...but that was normal. This was not

"Death, huh? Because this being a cemetary and all, it wouldn't be obvious or anything."
I just looked at her but received a smile in return. A small smile formed on my face and I looked away from her.
"Right, cemetary." I looked again at her. "It's just something else. Now that I think about it,.. it's not just the cemetary. It's the town. I guess it's got a right to have that 'death' feel since it's not actually suppoped to be 'alive'." Shrugging, I sighed and looked around again, my attention still focused again on the monument, tomb, or whatever it was exactly.
"What is it?"
"It's.." Blinking, I shook my head. I had a sense of familiarity come over me. It was almost as if.. no, it wasn't possible. Faith had mentioned that she ran into Dru, but.. no. She was dead. Her hand went to dust in mine. No, it wasn't possible. It's just this town. Shaking my head again, I looked at her, smiling just a little. "It's nothing."
Before she could really respond, the vampires headed closer towards us.
"It's just something else. Now that I think about it,.. it's not just the cemetery. It's the town. I guess it's got a right to have that 'death' feel since it's not actually supposed to be 'alive'.""Good call

"Jeez, Angel..leave some for me why dont'cha."I heard her, but barely. I was about to say something just as witty back at her, but I felt another vampire kick me from behind. I groaned out of frustration and spinned around, slicing the vampire in two with the axe. This thing comes in pretty handy I'd say
( ... )
I probably should have kneed him so hard, and took away the breath that he didn't have. Hey, it had the same effect though.
The vampire wasn't really speaking, just nearly fallen on the ground from my knee. I just rolled my eyes at him and waited for him to come to enough sense to look at me and give me something...anything.
Instead, he tried to get up, stupidly, and run away. Angel was already done with the violence bit, and was walking toward me, when the idiotic vampire tried to run away. Needless to say, Angel caught him, and threw him back into my arms, where I punched him to the ground...
Again.
"If I asked you please, would you tell me anything? No? Because that's just really rude."
He laughed, and got up again. I didn't deck him hard enough apparently. So I kicked his shin hard enough to break it. Then kicked him in the face.
"Why is Sunnydale back. That's concise and to the point."
As I walked over towards Buffy, her new friend decided to try to run away. I caught him and threw the vampire back at Buffy.. who punched him to the ground. Remind me not to get on her bad side again. It had been a while since we'd had punches thrown at each other - and I'd like it to stay that way.
Once again, the vampire tried to get up and leave, but Buffy.. well, she put him in his place - back on the ground. I grinned. Had to admit that I loved watching this. It was nice to see someone else do the interragating for a change.
We were a little ways from the monument that had been giving me so much trouble. Glancing up at it, I felt like whatever it was.. whoever it was - was gone. Had I been dreaming? I could only hope so. My eyes scanned the area and I couldn't see anyone or sense anything.
If it had been her, she was gone now. Shaking my head, I looked again to Buffy and the vampire
"Why is Sunnydale back. That's concise and to the point."I rolled my eyes when the vampire mumbled a 'I'm not going to tell you
( ... )
I looked at Angel, focusing my attention on him rather than the vampire, that didn't look like he was going to be getting up any time soon. Even if he did, Angel and I would be on him so quickly that it didn't matter if he tried to get away.
"Lysol. Good thing that wasn't lysol exactly because I would have to refrain from laughing when we fight."
When, I thought, when I looked back at the vampire. A slight smile creeped across my lips when I saw him in pain. I wasn't really one for torture, just getting the job done, but this vampire knew something and I would get the answer.
"Okay, so we go the other route. Did this thing send you after us?"
"You're all going to die, so it doesn't matter. Lyriso is too strong, even for the slayer."
"Keep going," I said. I wasn't budging on this one..although it kinda freaked me out the way the vampire was speaking. I looked at Angel, with a look, of Finally, some answers for once.
"Lysol. Good thing that wasn't lysol exactly because I would have to refrain from laughing when we fight."
I shrugged and then looked at the vampire again. He didn't exactly look like he was extrememly comfortable with all the kicking that Buffy was giving him.
"Okay, so we go the other route. Did this thing send you after us?"
The vampire mumbled something about Lysol again. Oh! Lyriso - that was it.
"Lyriso. So, at least now we have a name." I exchanged glances with Buffy and then looked again to the vampire. He looked at me like he was disgusted.
"It will defeat you, vampire. You think that your little battle was a victory? Lyriso will make you and your seed pay for turning on your own."
I rolled my eyes and stared back at the vampire. "Really? Thanks. Now, give us real answers or she'll have to kick you again."
I looked at Angel and gave a Shrug to the vampire that I could have staked by now....if it weren't for the fact that he had information.
"He's not lying. Now tell us what we want to know, before I break another bone in your undead body."
He wasn't talking so, I took the liberty to kick him on the side. If it had any wind, I think I might have knocked it all out of him. I was getting quite peeved that the vampire was laughing. I think it was because of the fear, but I wasn't sure. Regardless. It was annoying.
' You want to know what he wants? you're a threat, you're going to die. This town is going to live, and the champions of this world are going to die. They will all die, and you thought that the first evil was bad. Try the God lyriso, he's coroporeal, he can torture those that are already dead. Souls will burn through his hands. He can and will control it all. I staked him. I didn't want to hear anymore of what I was hearing, and that was probably all nonsense, right? An evil worse than the first
( ... )
"He's not lying. Now tell us what we want to know, before I break another bone in your undead body."Looking at Buffy, I nodded a bit then looked back at the vampire. He probably wasn't lying, but all he was giving us was threats from this god of his. I hadn't had much experience with gods before, but dealing with them never worked out for the best
( ... )
"Something that maybe a God is out to get us again? That should be fun considering our luck and all. If you don't remember, Slayer and God don't usually mesh. You know, Giles being here would really help this situation...but as luck would have it, he can't get out of England. He can't send more slayers, and for some reason, I doubt it's coincidental

I sighed and halfway knew she was right. None of this was a coindicence. In my long life, I'd learned that hardly anything was ever a coincidence.
"It had to be a god, huh? I haven't really had much to do with them - but it never works out good. And I have a feeling you don't really like them either. Did Giles say how long it would be before he could get here?"
Mentioning Giles made me think of Wesley. He had been our brains.. although much more than that. You'd think that if a town that was a crater just weeks earlier could be brought back then you could do the same with a person. Well, it had happened before. We were both living-.. we were both proof of that.
