I'm still trying to get over the fact that I feel 100% different than I did a few days ago. Everything seems gray and dull around me, and I don't know how to fix it. I guess I just have to try and think positively and look forward to the future, but easier said than done, I'm sure. I'm calm on the outside, but I don't show a lot of interest in things. My parents try their best to cheer me up, but they know I need time to sort out thoughts and whatnot. In the meantime, I'll be doing my best at that.

Allison was stranded in Los Angeles by herself on the way home from Detroit. As you know, it was thunderstorming extremely bad for a while there, and her flight ended up being delayed almost 3 hours, so when she finally arrived in LA, she had 10-15 minutes to get to her next terminal, not to mention going through baggage scan, customs, security, etc.

Only one flight a day goes from LA to Melbourne, Australia...so she was "stranded". She had to get a hotel room for the night, and when she finally settled down in her room with food, it was 2:30 AM. Her flight didn't leave until 10:00 PM the next day. She called me and told me all about it, and how frustrating and scary it was to be involved with this situation. Can you imagine?

I called and woke her up the next day like she told me to, but it wasn't enough sleep, so she slept another couple of hours, then called me back. She ended up going down to the front desk to see what she could do in town to pass the time. She wanted to check out Rodeo Drive with all the designer shops and whatnot, but a driver who was going to take her suggested Melrose instead, because "It's where the younger hip crowd goes." He dropped her off there, $50 dollars later, and left her to roam the street. It was the GHETTO. She said ATMs were spray-painted and bashed in, people were sleeping on the sides of streets, and nothing was open. She got lost in it all, and when she finally found a cab, she got the hell out of there. This time the fare was only $25ish. Rip-off? Showing her real aggressive "Mooney" side, she went to the person at the front desk of her hotel after she got back and gave them a piece of her mind. They felt terrible and gave her a free-shuttle voucher so she could tour for free. She went to the beach and it was a lot better and a lot more her style. This time she wasn't whistled at on the street and dis-respected, but still...I bet she took it as a compliment. Hahah.

Quite an experience for her. An adventure like no other, seeing as she did all this herself. She gets back Monday 6:15 AM her time, and she has to go right to school, I'm guessing. She'll have field hockey right after school, and be absolutely exhausted the whole day and when she finally gets home. I'm sure she'll have hours worth of homework to do, but no energy to hold herself upright to even attempt it. I feel so bad for her, because she came back to Michigan for me, so she could be with me for Prom, and enjoy the good 'ole US. I hope she doesn't hate me for it, lol.

She'll be even more wordly from all this. I mean, the girl already was ripped away from everything at age 16 to live in a whole new world. Now more adventures unwind? She could write a book, trust me. She has more stories and experiences than any 18 year old teen/young adult I ever knew. It's what makes her so interesting.

Well, anyways...I guess it's off to bed. I slept the day away today, because I felt alone and depressed, but maybe tomorrow will be different?

I wish she could be apart of all this with us, it isn't fair.

Well...

For now,

I'm not even kidding. Cherish what you have.
If you don't, one day you'll realize why you should have.
