So I get an email in my box today that says that church has cancelled Christmas.

(Well, no, technically they cancelled the Christmas Eve Service, but how often do I get to write a sentence like that?)

Meteorologists have been using the word "blizzard", and it's supposed to hit full-force tomorrow afternoon.  It may not let up until Saturday.  On one hand, this means I will probably not get to see Dan and Lisa and the boys, as they will (wisely) stay home.  On the other hand, I will likely hole up at my parents' and have a fun time anyway.

All day it has been misting and raining, and said mist and rain have frozen on the branches of the trees and turned them white.  I'm really hoping it lasts until the clouds break, because such a thing under moonlight or sunlight would be stunning.  Even under slate-grey skies it's cool.

My little brother has taken a stunning photo of said ice-on-branches and posted it to Facebook.

So my brand new clock radio?  Has a broken volume control.  Apparently this is a common problem with the design, so I think I shall eschew the whole "send it back and get a new one" and see if either mine or Amy's dad can fix it.  'Cause my dad has built radios and a computer, and Amy's dad was an electrical engineer before he was a pastor.  (Also, I don't really use the radio anyway, so it's more just the fact that broken things peeve me than any actual problem.)  I love knowing people who can fix stuff.
