Z thinks I ought to go to Australia with the university choir. (He likes rounding up alumni for international tours.) He's like, "You're a working girl. You can afford it." Right. With loans due and grad school and the rest of it. It'd be fun, it really would. If I weren't paying for my grad classes, I might. But... yeah.
Also, watching a Fifth Doctor serial with commentary is much fun. I watched "Earthshock", which has the whole TARDIS crew commentating. There's all kinds of teasing going on, and Janet Fielding critiquing the fashions, and her and Sarah Sutton mocking the men for always having their hands in their pockets, and everybody remembering the actors who played the other characters, and Peter Davison talking the most of all. He's so chatty! Apparently, during the filming, Waterhouse got nicknamed "Matt(e) Finish" - a bit of trivia he'd completely forgotten. Davison pointed out a moment when an assistant appears onscreen. He'd first noticed when the episode originally aired, but what were they gonna do? Sutton lamented the way she was always getting written off, with Waterhouse suggesting that she was too clever, and Fielding seconding that. "Sometimes it pays to be a stupid Australian." At the beginning of two of the episodes, Davison and Waterhouse sang parts of the theme music. I love commentaries when people are just reminiscing and chatting. The technical stuff is all well and good, but I like to hear how people had fun or things went wrong, or all the other little stories behind the filming.
And now some fun. It's only credits running, but if you like Veggie Tales, you must watch. Or listen.
