Lest you think I have suddenly ceased to exist, I am updating.
I moved back home on Sunday, which is weird. For one thing, my little brother doesn't know what to do with me. (I say little, he's nineteen and six feet tall) He's had the basement to himself for five years, and here I am, invading his world. He watches TV, and I go and plop down and watch it with him. He's working on his computer, I'm playing Zelda. And then I was complaining about the state of his bathroom and Mom and Dad told him to go clean it out, and he's like, Why? 'Cause you're not the only one down there now, you dolt! And I wasn't the one who made it such a mess! But he's moving out in a week or two, so then the basement will be mine.
I don't know if I'll be staying there, though. I'm trying to find an apartment. Mom and Dad keep trying to convince me how nice and convenient it'd be if I lived there (I'd help pay utilities, but as I'll be student-teaching, they may not charge me rent), but I'm not sure if I can handle living at home. I mean, it's nice. Once David's gone I'll have tons of room, access to the TV/VCR/DVD, internet, free laundry facilities, etc, but the thing is, it's my PARENTS' BASEMENT, and it's quite a ways away from school and wherever I may be student-teaching. And
telepindil 's apartment house has this really nice 1-bedroom available for just $300/month. So we'll see.
Just found out yesterday that I do NOT have to take "Principles and Methods of Secondary Education," meaning that all I have to do this summer is do one more practicum. And a guy at a music camp emailed me back about helping out there as my practicum. It sounds like it'll be quite nice. I may even do some real teaching. I might get paid, too.
Have had way too much fun at
jkrowling.com. First off, it's such a LOVELY site! Beautiful design! And all the fun little things to play with, the easter eggs, tons of information, trivia, pictures... Huge thanks to JKR for doing that. I've found out so much! The backstory for Dean Thomas was interesting. And lo and behold, dear Ginevra Weasley is the first girl born into the Weasley family in several generations. Ginevra! It's a lovely name. And Arthur has/had two brothers, and Molly's maiden name is Prewett, and the twins were born on April 1st (of course), and Sirius' eyes were grey. ::hugs JKR::
I must go. I've got an interview at a hotel for a summer job. They need people to work in the banquets department, and they're specifically hiring people from my school. I love that my school has such a high reputation with the local employers. Hopefully it will work out.
