Scintilla's Effluent Efflorescence

Me: That's a pretty notebook, can I take a look?
Friend: NO! Don't touch it! you can't look at that! It's my diary!
Me: Diary?
Friend: Yeah, its where I write all my secrets.

So there you go, that was how I was introduced to the concept of keeping a diary. I remember being utterly consumed by my need to share with a $3.95 lined journal all that crossed my mind; the happenings of each day, the things that excited me, the people that frustrated me, absolutely everything. In hindsight, there was one point at which the journal seemed to BE my life rather than just a record of it.

But as time went on and my life gradually consisted of more things, more people, my priorities changed. Not to mention the horrific moment at which I discovered the lock that came with my first diary could be opened by means other than the given key - methods included; paper clip, bobby pin or simple meagre force.

Don't get me wrong, by no means am I suggesting that keeping a diary is a bad idea, it's a great idea, I still do it, but the concept and also purpose of journal keeping has undergone a series of evolutions over time. And now, THIS shall be my new journal. Unfortunately, I can't pinpoint an exact event that sparked the idea of keeping an online journal in my mind. But one of my daily daydream sessions led me to the conclusion that whilst I like having secrets, I'd also love to have the opportunity to share them.

Scintilla: a small particle or spark
Effluent Efflorescence: radiant blossoming

In the great scheme of things, or just simply in the world, I see myself as nothing more than a minute constituent, hence scintilla.
I am what I am, I like what I like and I can't be what I'm not. By sharing with you my secrets and thoughts, I'm sharing with you my journey along the path that is my life.

In sharing with you my secrets, I am inviting you to witness my Effluent Efflorescence.
