Ooo. i am so energized right now, and i feel lucky that i work at a library.
like all the crazy stories i can tell. like i asked them why they take attendence every sunday. and it's because a lot of people work half an hour after the library closes on sunday, and this one time a lady got locked into the library because people forgot that she was working til 5:30, and all our windows are barred, and this happened back when we barred the doors as well. so it was a bad situation and she freaked out pretty bad, so now they take attendence. my supervisor got locked into the library a long time ago as well, because he wasn't watching the time (we all speculate that he fell asleep) so that kinda scared me and made me laugh too.
today i had to check all the lp's for date due cards, because we have a shortage of the date due cards, and in nearly every lp we have, there was a date due card. it was pretty funny because some of them haven't been checked out since ' 94. so we have all these vintage date due cards because the clerks are too lazy to pull out the date due cards from the sleeve. i was also noticing, about the vintage date due cards, that they were all so neatly, properly stamped. of course, this was before rosalie started stamping cards. rosalie is a sweet lady, but she has a lazy eye and she is almost legally blind. whenever she stamps the date due cards, the stamping is all cockeyed and in the wrong place on the card. several patrons come in, confused about when the videos are due because they can't read the card because a nearly blind lady stamped them. once, rosalie stamped 800 date due cards with the date upside down on the card. it was a complete disaster.
we got a new speedy clerk today and i was really happy about that. me and lupe were amazed at what a hard worker he is and how fast he is at checking out patrons. we were even clapping for him a few times.
anyways, i've been feeling so sensible and levelheaded and great lately. life is damn good. i feel loved by all my friends and family and everything, and lucky that i do have that. i've been appreciating so many things and it feels great.
plus, i don't have to work until friday and all my friends are coming home on wednesday from college. i really can't wait.
